The first one is an all natural face mask that uses Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Honey. This is an amazing mask for girls (or guys) who are in college as it is for stressed out skin. The honey and nutmeg act to reduce redness and inflammation and the cinnamon gives it a soothing smell. The Cinnamon and Nutmeg also are great exfoliators.
All you have to do to make this mask for yourself is mix:
2 Tablespoons of Honey
1 Teaspoon of Nutmeg
1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon I prefer to add a little more cinnamon and less nutmeg to make it smell nicer. So I usually add less than a teaspoon of nutmeg and more than a teaspoon of cinnamon.
Once you have done this mix it all together and it should have the consistency of a paste. After this apply all over your face avoiding your eyes and lips (Though be warned it will drip onto your lips as it is honey and it will run,Lick it up I promise it tastes just as amazing as it works on your skin) Leave on for 30-45 minutes and then rinse off with warm water and be sure to scrub your face. The cinnamon and Nutmeg will exfoliate while you wash it off. And walah you have done it. When I first tried this my face was less red than when I went into the tub I was amazed to say the least.
The next thing I did in my little weekend of pampering is a little bit of hair treatment. As shown in one of my Previous Posts I am not always the best at taking care of my hair. I have however been trying to grow it back out (successfully I may add YAYYY) and this weekend I found a DIY recipe that I truly loved. It was not said to actually grow hair, however it has been proven to repair split ends, add shine, enhance softness, and promote health, which in turn promotes hair growth. I obviously fell head over heels in love with this.
All you will need is:
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
A Warm and Damp Towel
(If you have a nice medium sized hand towel those work perfectly for this instance.)
I suggest this when you are about to sit and soak in a nice hot bath or maybe when you know you are going to be in the shower for over 25 minutes ( that would be all of my showers ) All you have to do is take the Olive Oil and run in through your hair, but make sure that you massage it into your scalp as massaging your scalp promotes hair growth. So make sure you get your ends and your scalp really well. With 2 tablespoons even though it doesn't seem like a lot I promise you it is. Now for different hair lengths please refer below:
Shoulder Length or above: 2 Tablespoons
Breast Level to Shoulder: 3-4 Tablespoons depending how close to which end
Below Breast Level: 5 or more Tablespoons I would only go up to 6 though as it should be enough.
Now while you are doing this I would heat up that towel! Once you have that Olive Oil all through out your hair take that warm towel and wrap your hair up in it for a good 30 minutes. Take time to shave your legs or do that facial that above. And when you are done rinse it out with shampoo and conditioner. Be warned this may take a few rinses, for my hair I go with 2 washes and it does excellently. And last but not least try to let your hair air dry if you have the time, though if you are in a rush feel free to use a blow dryer ( and heat spray ) Once that is done you wont be able to quit touching your soft hair that's a promise.
Who doesn't love when you know you haven't shaved your legs in a couple days and they feel gross, and then after you shave them that nice soft feeling they have? I know I love it, but this weekend I found something even better. After I shaved my legs I applied this wonderful body scrub that smelled absolutely heavenly and when I got out of the tub my legs felt softer than ever. It felt like I had sun oil on but I didn't they were just so rich with nutrients and so soft so I'm here to share it with you.
What you'll need:
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon of Honey
1/4 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice (mine was of a bottle and it worked fine)
a little bit of Olive Oil
Once you have all the ingredients simply mix them together and apply to your skin and rub it in for a minute or so before rinsing. And there you will have it soft legs free of dead skin and smoother than ever.
All you will need:
A spray bottle (mine broke so I rubbed it in which works great too)
Conditioner
Warm Water
Lemon Juice
First step is to make sure whatever was in that spray bottle no longer is so make sure you wash it out real well you don't want to accidently spray windex into your hair I cant imagine that is healthy. Next squeeze about a 1/2 inch of conditioner into the bottom of the spray bottle. This will act as a detangler and prevent your hair from drying out. Then fill the bottle halfway with warm water and the other half with lemon juice. Put the top on the bottle shake it up and you are good to go. HOWEVER, if you would like here are a few other things you can add to make it a Super Lightening Spray.
- Add a few drops of Hydrogen Peroxide this is very drying however definitely speeds up the lightening process.
- Add some Cinnamon this gives the mix a better smell and brings out a more golden tone in your hair. (I added about two teaspoons and it worked wonderfully for me)
- Use Chamomile Tea instead of water. When mixed with the other ingredients it tends to speed up the lightening process.
- A Spoon or Two of Sea Salt this will give you the beachy waves effect and will help to lighten a bit, though be warned it is very drying.
